Full Council 26-09-18
Wed, 26th Sep 2018 - 6:00 pm
Welcome to our webcasts
You can now watch council meetings from the comfort of your own home, or anywhere else where internet access is available.
As well as live council meetings you will also be able to view previous meetings.
What is a webcast?
The council has installed cameras in the council chamber to broadcast planning, cabinet, council and licensing meetings on a regular basis. Live and recorded meetings will be available on this site. We are particularly keen to receive people’s views on the quality and usefulness of the webcasts.
Webcasting is the broadcast of video and audio over the internet - put simply it is like watching TV but through an internet connection. By webcasting meetings, the council aims to provide local residents who cannot attend meetings with an opportunity to play a part in the local democratic process, and to get involved in the decisions affecting their lives.
Using this Site
To launch a webcast simply select the meeting you wish to view from the Webcast Overview on the right hand side of this page. You will need to have Windows Media player installed on the machine you are using (this can be downloaded for free from Microsoft's website (This link will take you to an external website)
Should you miss a meeting, or would like to view a section of the meeting again, then you can view the archive of the webcast in the Webcast Library. Meetings will be available approximately 48 hours after they have finished. The archives will allow you to view the meeting at you leisure and, through the use of the index points, allow you to jump to a specific agenda point or speaker. Webcasts are only archived for a period of 6 months after the meeting.
You can find out more information about the meeting by clicking the Resources button at the top of the page.
